The BWY Yoga Foundation Course
The course focuses on basic practical techniques and personal development taught in the context of the philosophy that underpins Yoga.
It is aimed at providing a structured course to widen practical experience and to encourage personal development for serious students who do not necessarily wish to prepare for teacher training. To provide basic grounding for those who wish to progress to train as yoga teachers.
The course is 60 hours minimum and is held one Sunday a month over 9 months starting in March 2010. The group of students working together will be between 8 and 16. A BWY Foundation Course Certificate of Attendance will be awarded to students to achieve 80% attendance or above. This is not a certificate to teach. It is helpful in attaining a place on a BWY Teacher Training Diploma course as it attests to the student’s commitment and that they have a good foundation of basic knowledge.

Meditation Course
A six-week Beginners Meditation Course on Sunday evenings from 6.30pm – 8.00pm is starting May 2010. Participants are limited to five. Meditation is a state of dynamic stillness and about finding your inner space and making friends with yourself. It is a gradual process of healing and growth. From it arises the confidence to cope with all life situations and the restoration of energy.
Meditation does more than just help you feel good and in restoring calm, it makes you perform better and alters the structure of your brain, researchers have found. During meditation the brainwave patterns change and neuronal firing patterns synchronise. It can bring many of the restorative benefits of sleep. The course will show you how to establish and develop a regular meditation practice in order to calm the mind, alleviate stress and connect you to your inner creativity, truth, power and wisdom and loving self.
